Probe cards can be analyzed for both signal integrity as well as power delivery system performance. Characterization parameters include time domain reflectometry and time domain transmission measurements. Extensive evaluation of the measurements for impedance, delay and discontinuities allows for ready assessment of a probe card's uniformity and ability to deliver the signal to the device under test.

Frequency domain measurements complement those taken in the time domain and are essential for an assessment of resonance-free operation to the desired specifications. Power delivery system performance focuses on determining impedance as a function of frequency as seen from the device under test. Additionally, time domain information is collected and gives an indication of droop and anticipated system noise levels.
